Although the University of Florida gave it their all, the University of Washington (Mizuno) claimed the 2009 NCAA Women’s Softball Championship tonight, 3-2, at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, OK. Washington won last night’s contest 8-0 to lay claim to the title.

Of Note: Georgia’s eight home runs in this year’s WCWS break the previous team record of six (shared by three teams). Florida and Georgia tied an SEC home run record with 86 home runs on the year.
